Happy New Year to all our guests past, present and future! We had a lovely Christmas with the family staying here at Acorn Lodge. Fortunately we weren’t affected by the flooding, but many places in the surrounding areas were and our thoughts are with them as they clean up and get back to normal. The community spirit of us Yorkshire folk is something to be really proud of. We had a few guests return for a Twixmas break before we took our own break in the New Year.
We’ve had a short break in the Pyrenees for a bit of skiing, not much due to lack of snow!
It’s time to ease back into it, we have just welcomed the Christmas Home and Gift trade fair and the Bigga Turf conference. January and some of February are the only months we do one night stays at the weekends, so if you can only manage one night please give us a call.
We also have some fantastic rates this winter, please keep an eye on the website or email us at email@example.com.
Valentines is the perfect excuse for a romantic break away. Harrogate is the 3rd most romantic destination in the world! (Secret Escapes 2014). Take a romantic break by indulging yourselves at the stunning Turkish Baths, or a wander hand in hand through the pretty Montpellier Quarter discovering shops, galleries, cafes and bars.
There are some great places to explore from castles to grand historical buildings, market towns, shopping, and over 200 restaurants to choose from in Harrogate alone! For the culture vultures there are festivals all year round and for the outdoor lovers the Big Bike Bash and Tour de Yorkshire return for another year.
For a more rural escape we have the pretty countryside of Nidderdale right on our doorstep. An Area of Natural Outstanding Beauty, with cosy pubs with roaring fires and crisp winter walks around some of the reservoirs.
The ranger at Brimham Rocks will introduce you to the sites including Lover’s Leap, then a bowl of homemade soup to warm up after the walk.
We look forward to welcoming our guests past and future in 2016, as we celebrate our 13th year here!
