March is a great time to be in Harrogate and the surrounding areas of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, cities of York and Leeds and the East Coast. With Spring well and truly on its way and temperatures rising this is a lovely time for walking and cycling.
With Mother’s Day in the middle of the month you could consider treating your Mum to a relaxing break here at Acorn Lodge. We are superbly located close to all the amenities of Harrogate. We have free parking and wifi, and breakfast is included in our room rate. Harrogate Theatre has a Dirty Dancing tribute night on 13th March.
Visit Britain have launched a campaign to promote Britain to a Chinese audience, and 3 of our local attractions have made the 101 places to visit in Britain. They have even been given their own Chinese names! Harrogate’s new Mandarin name is ‘Hai-le Gate’ (Happy Sea Gate), Fountains Abbey is simply ‘abbey with fountains’ and Brimham Rocks was voted as ‘a lot of rocks in different shapes’.
There are a few new attractions in Harrogate Town Centre. We enjoyed a lunch at the new Stuzzi Italian café/deli/restaurant just a few minutes walk away, and we have heard great reports from the new Spanish Tapas restaurant La Oliva. Jamie Oliver has opened a restaurant and we also have a new venue, the Pit, with table tennis, snooker and an extensive American Themed menu.
With lots going on in the local area and places to visit, March is a very cost effect time to visit Harrogate. We have special rates reduced from £94 per night to only £64.95 midweek!
Our favourite activities at the moment are:
Walks around Swinsty, Fewston and Thruscross reservoirs
Trips to markets such as Skipton and Knaresborough
Trying out the new local restaurants
Warming up at the Turkish Baths spa
Visiting the local theatre comedy nights
Visits to Leeds and York on the train, particularly the new O2 Arena in Leeds. We already have tickets for Nile Rogers Chic and Pharrell Williams this year!
Snowdrop hunting through the Valley Gardens and Pinewoods, stopping off for Hot chocolate.
With so much to see and do why not book your visit now. Please call us on 01423 525630 or email us on firstname.lastname@example.org for your personalised booking.
We look forward to welcoming guests old and new in the Spring!
